Challenge: Create a website for one of the most creative restaurant in the UK.
3 x Michelin stars and 5 x AA Rosettes. At the time the Fat Duck had moved to Australia for 9 months and the website we created was put in place for the return. No pressure then! The restaurant is known for its fourteen-course tasting menu featuring dishes such as nitro-scrambled egg and bacon ice cream, an Alice in Wonderland inspired mock turtle soup involving a bouillon packet made up to look like a fob watch dissolved in tea, and a dish called Sound of the Sea which includes an audio element. Luckily for me I had the opportunity to visit - it was like nothing I had ever tasted / experienced. It's hard to explain but every dish contained a mind-blowing element of some sort or another. This was one of those projects I had wanted to do for ages as we had Heston as a client/friend of the studio. When it actually landed (after 2 years of discussion) the amount of ideas flowing was pretty intense. For various reasons we came back to something quite simple in the end. The website launched and all seats for the first 3 months sold out almost instantly.
